The Petit Le Mans powered by Mazda (French for little Le Mans) is a sports car endurance race held annually at Road Atlanta in Braselton, Georgia, USA. It uses the rules established for the 24 hours of Le Mans by the Automobile Club de l’Ouest (ACO), which are slightly modified if necessary, mainly to allow additional cars to compete. The race was founded by Road Atlanta owner Don Panoz and first run on October 10, 1998 as part of the IMSA season. The 1999 edition was one of the original events of the American Le Mans Series. This year will mark the 2nd Annual Intercontinental Le Mans Cup, which connects the races in North America, Europe and Asia. The Petit Le Mans covers a maximum of 1,000 miles (1,600 km) (which is approximately 394 laps) or a maximum of 10 hours, whichever comes first; only once, in the rain-stopped 2009 race, has the leading team failed to complete 1,000 miles (1,600 km). In addition to the overall race, teams of two or three drivers per car compete for class victories in four different classes of cars, two for Le Mans prototypes and two for grand tourer cars. Class winners of this event receive an automatic invitation to the following year’s 24 Hours of Le Mans. Info: 1-800-849-RACE.

September 13 Chattanooga, TN Coker Tire Fall Cruise-In The Chattanooga Cruise In is a laid-back car show located in the Dynamo of Dixie, Chattanooga, Tennessee. It all started as an open house at Coker Tire and Honest Charley Speed Shop, in downtown Chattanooga, Tennessee, and has grown into one of the premier Cruise In events in the South! The event is sanctioned by the Coker Tire staff, and each Chattanooga Cruise In features an open house, allowing spectators to view all of the cool stuff inside the 100-year-old Coker headquarters. Streets surrounding Coker Tire are closed for the event, allowing participants to park on the street and nearby parking lots. Hundreds of cars and thousands of spectators invade Chattanooga for the one-day event, which has a Noon-6pm EST schedule. Two restaurants are within walking distance of the Cruise In area, but there are also food vendors who set up at the event. We promise you won’t go hungry! As for the event overview, it’s fairly simple. Drive to Chattanooga, park your car and have a good time. There is no entry fee, no judging and no pressure. As this event grows, it continues to have a relaxed atmosphere with some of the coolest cars, trucks and motorcycles in the Southeast. Enjoy the live music, and the special give-aways and promotions, but don’t forget to check out the Coker Museum while you’re here! This event is making Chattanooga a car guy destination, and we hope you will join us for our next Cruise In event! September 18-21, 2014 Charlotte, NC FALL CHARLOTTE Auto Fair.

September 18 – 21 Chattanooga, TN Coker Tire Challenge The event consists of antique cars driving to various checkpoints located throughout the Tennessee Valley, and sometimes into the mountains of Georgia and North Carolina. A field of mostly vintage cars attempt to keep on pace with each stage’s pre-determined time allowance, so with the twists and turns of back roads comes a major challenge of staying on time. Going too fast or too slow penalizes the rally racers, so lots of math and figuring goes into dialing in the correct speed and sticking to the route. Racers come from all across the country to compete in the Coker Tire Challenge, and it is not limited to vintage cars, although modern cars are given a penalty based on the production year. The Coker Tire Challenge is a three-day event, with every day starting and ending in the same general vicinity, so participants can stay at the same hotel all three nights of the competition. Thursday is all about event Registration, while Friday, Saturday and Sunday are days of competition. It’s a great event that never fails to show the beauty of the Southeast, and it gives car guys a good excuse to get out and drive their vintagemachines!   Info: cokertirechallenge.com.

As soon as the gates to our village of Newcastle open, visitors are transported to a magical medieval theme park full of fun and whimsy. Over 100 skilled artisans inhabit charming cottages, creating unique one-of-a-kind treasures for your shopping pleasure. Strolling minstrels fill the air with music, and our colorful village characters are always ready to regale you with a joke, a story, or just plain silliness!

hey nunnie nunnieYou’ll be hard-pressed to pass by one of our kitchens or pubs without sampling something delicious (usually served on a stick!) or a refreshing beverage. Hearty soups, sandwiches, corn on the cob, meat pies, fish and chips, and far too many tempting decadent desserts are the fare of the Faire. But the ultimate Renaissance treat is the mighty Smoked Turkey Legge! Tipping the scales at 1 1/2 pounds each, these are a meal unto themselves!

Ten stages provide a continuous schedule of music, comedy, juggling, and amazing feats of skill. Talented performers from across the Realm will delight and entertain you all day long!

Looking for a thrill? Our unusual collection of people-powered rides and games of skill are sure to fit the bill! Throw an axe, pluck a duck, ride the Columbus Ships to the New World, or try your luck on the Junior Joust.

The crowning event of any Festival day is the Royal Jousting Tournament. Brave knights in shining armor battle three times daily to be named “King’s Champion”!
